The Astrology we treat, and to which we refer, originates in the ancient land of Mesopotamia, and is particularly linked to Sumerian tradition and civilization. It brings different nuances and connotations to classical or so-called modern Astrology.
This type of astrological approach is much more practical (as indeed were the ancient sages), intuitive, analogical, and has the purpose of using the concepts and knowledge of the stars, so that they can be made more available, in a useful, practical way to the human race. As well as applicable in people’s everyday life.
It does not deal particularly with the prediction or knowledge of future events; rather it proposes itself as a cognitive science of Being, or as an evolutionary tool for understanding the human nature and his spiritual essence. Considering therefore, so to speak, the ‘positive aspects’, in terms of talents, qualities, potentials and evolutive challenges to be developed; as well as the ‘negative aspects’, in the form of slopes to be resolved, karmic influences and connotations that in the course of life can be transformed, transcended and redeemed.
Astrology from the Sumerian tradition point of view is dated approximately 8000 BC. This civilization has put into practice the ancient knowledge of the Vedas, and has deepened the study of Astrology ‘in an external way’; so to speak the Macro-Cosmos with its celestial bodies, the sky, the stars and their interactions out there, to better understand the inner movements of the Soul and the Spirit.
During the research in the astrological and alchemical fields, pages and pages of cuneiform writings concerning this topic have been deciphered. The deciphered texts consist of at least 300 pages of “formulas” or “recipes”. These formulas, for the most part, describe the association of medicinal plants, precious stones, gems and minerals, used to support the ‘needy astrological Archetypes’; so that, the principle of Mars, for example, does not remain only an abstract concept in the person and his birth chart. Instead, it can be “assumed”, or better to say “digested” and integrated by the person, through the appropriate alchemical natural extracts, which they are bearers of Martian quality with greater preponderance. So in order to have the possibility to bring within oneself, to take on, to feed, to digest and to ‘metabolize’ the aforementioned principles – also called “Archetypes” – in concrete form, objectively inwardly; inside of the individual.
The attention in this vision of Astrology, therefore, is always addressed to the person, to the individual; because, as the ancient sages affirm: “As it is outside, so it is within us. As it is in the MACRO-Cosmos, it is in the MICRO-Cosmos.” The human being is endowed with sufficient free will that gives him the power to redeem himself from influences from the past, and to evolve according to the new learning.
In Sumerian astrological vision, we are going to place the individual at the center of the birth chart, in the smallest inner circle: we consider the first circle, around the figure of the individual, or the circle of the ‘astrological Houses’, as ‘the 8th (Eighth) Chakra’ or ‘8th Auric Body’ of the person; so to say part of his Soul. While the outer circle, the ‘Zodiacal Belt’, represent the totality of the influences of the Signs that the person will receive during the time of his earthly existence. At this point it is clear that Houses and Planets will take on a very different meaning: they will be part of the person, impressed in him, or more precisely the person himself. While the external astrological Signs, will constitute real external forces, similar to magnets, which they will be able to exert an influence or a challenge, in evolutionary terms, towards the Being and the person.
The birth chart represents our stamp or mark of entry to material reality, to the incarnatory experience, and our first breath; on this brand we base ourselves to comprehend (from the Latin ‘cum-prehendere’, to take with oneself, to acquire within ourselves – unlike to understand), the reason for our coming to this world. And it is through understanding and awareness that we can verify whether we are coherent, or distant from our predestination.
Moreover, Alchemy claims that the responsibility of everything outside of us, of everything that happens to us, is only ours and not of the sky and the stars: the sky becomes just an expression of our true Self.
At the time of birth, all those astrological signals and impulses that derive from the outside are impressed in our interiority. This does not mean that everything that characterizes us will remain necessarily or eternally the same, since the birth chart portrays the individual with his baggage, so to speak, what he carries with him, in the specific moment in which it came to the light of existence. But over the years, many things will change in the course of life.
The Spirit takes shape through the magnetic fields made available by the whole of our Solar System and the Zodiacal Belt. It contains the registers of all that he has experienced, known and passed through in all previous lives and incarnations. Thus, all our history, which is currently impregnated in our DNA, in the aura and in the subtle bodies.
In this way, Astrology becomes a particularly useful method in the work of self-knowledge, and will be much more useful in the moment in which every interested person will take responsibility and awareness of the interior aspects that characterize him. Since the ‘astral map’ is nothing but the mirror that reflects the person himself.
The unique aspect of this approach to Astrology lies in the fact that it takes advantage of Nature to deal with the challenges, disharmonies and astrological aspects that are either deficient or debilitated in the individual, through specific alchemic recipes and formulas, from Tradition, composed of extractions of flowers, plants, metals, gems, minerals and precious stones, for the improvement and support of the original astrological influences affecting the individual, and which often weigh heavily on his existence. This allows the individual to be, first of all, supported in his journey, and to be able to become aware of the inner and/or external aspects that interest him; to ‘digest’ all the electro-magnetic fields present in one’s own existence, which autonomously recall certain events and experiences, and which are indeed kept within one’s own Self.
Recourse to the help of masterly astrological remedies derived from Nature, greatly facilitates awareness and consciousness of all existential processes and about the personal evolutionary challenges that the stars exercise in our lives, to which each of us is designated.
