Some people respond quickly, after taking essences for only a few days or weeks, while others may require essences for many months or even years in order to resolve emotional worries, release negative thinking, traumatic events, or improve physical conditions. Generally, people find that the longer they have had an illness or felt a certain way, then the longer it will take to bring about a new balance. Here also a state of trust comes into play, together with a good disposition of mind, an open mind and an attitude to change.
Flower essences do not work instant magic (although many people can experience quick results). Improvements and results (on any level), often requires persistence and can be gradual, particularly where the issues are deep-seated. Everyone’s response is unique, and everyone’s innate capacity to get better is individual; so be patient. Some people find the qualities of essences so subtle that they do not think there has been any change within themselves after taking them. It is not until they reflect (..or others remind them) upon how they were, or how they felt and behaved previously, that they recognize a difference. Often are required: self-analysis skills, an observational spirit, exercise of conscience, listening attitude and awareness.
Although not everyone experiences this; flower essences can sometimes provoke an ‘elimination crisis’ or ‘discharge crisis’ (unloading and cleaning) during the first few days of taking them. This can be experienced emotionally. We may become aware of strong feelings, and may actually display irritation, anger or crying. Or physically, where a reaction occurs as the body detoxifies, there may be, for example, a skin rash, pimples or chest congestion. If there is already a physical condition present, it may worsen before getting better. It is not unusual for flower essences to work in this way. The biology and physiology of all animals and all living organisms respond instinctively and authentically in this way! It is a natural, archaic process at the base of the nature that constitutes us. So it is not strange or unusual for floral essences to work this way, or to put in place processes and/or stimulations like the aforementioned ones.
Essences can be used for other reasons than improving a certain state of mind or condition, such as to provide self-help means to personal empowerment; to find a way out of existential situations that are steadily repeating. To refine your perceptive skills; to acquire greater ability to adapt to life’s circumstances; to broaden our mental horizons and to find new strategies and solutions to the events of our daily life/routine. To be helped in developing more empathy to better interact or understand others. Otherwise for the self-development of a greater consciousness and increased self-awareness.
